Bristol Freedivers
About Us
We are a friendly independent Freediving Club based at Horfield Leisure Centre in Bristol. We are open to qualified freedivers from all recognised training agencies such as AIDA, PADI or SSI and are affiliated to the British Freediving Association. We are a not for profit organisation run by the members for the members with all our fees going in to the running of the club.
Our members enjoy weekly pool sessions, social events and open water diving at nearby lakes and the coast. We can help you get started in Freediving, improve if you've taken courses before or compete if you have that goal. We have a range of interests from recreational diving to competition, spearfishing, fitness and yoga.
We have 2 sessions available each week. Our main club session is on Friday evening at Horfield Leisure Centre, followed by a drink in the pub. The range of activities covered include Static, Dynamic, Improving Technique, Safety, Rescue, Fitness and Fun! For members with competitive goals we have a session available on Saturdays at Kingswood. The session is not led by an instructor and is for those with an active training plan or training for the competitions. On Sundays some of our members hold an unofficial, non-club session (i.e. run socially by club members) at Horfield Leisure Centre in the baby pool, focusing on statics.
During the warmer months we organise Open Water Diving and Club Days at lakes and quarries close to Bristol and trips to the coast.
